EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS
The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg can be called upon in the event of violations of the European Convention on Human Rights. The Convention on Human Rights has constitutional status in Austria; if the rights it guarantees - e.g. the right to a fair trial (Art 6 Convention on Human Rights), the right to respect for private and family life (Art 8 Convention on Human Rights), freedom of thought, conscience and religion (Art 9 Convention on Human Rights), freedom of expression (Art 10 Convention on Human Rights), freedom of assembly and association (Art 11 Convention on Human Rights), protection of property (Art 1 of the 1st Additional Protocol to the Convention on Human Rights) - are violated, it is possible to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. If a human right is violated in a Member State (Article 1 of the First Additional Protocol to the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights), it is possible to lodge an individual complaint with the ECtHR after having exhausted the domestic courts.
What we do: We can do fundamental rights! Whether it's the Austrian Constitution Act 1867, the Federal Constitution Act 1920 as amended in 1929, the European Convention on Human Rights or the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights: We specialise in legal protection before the Constitutional Court in Vienna and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. We have achieved spectacular successes in highly complex proceedings. And: We will not let up! For example, we provided legal support to a group for twelve years until we were finally able to fight for its recognition as a religious denomination at the European Court of Human Rights.
