CLIMATE PROTECTION LAW

Climate Protection Law

European climate protection legislation is based on the European Climate Law (2021), which obliges the EU to become climate neutral by 2050 and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55 % by 2030 compared to 1990. The key instruments are the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) for industry and energy, the Effort Sharing Regulation (ESR) with national targets for transport, buildings and agriculture and the LULUCF Regulation for land use and forestry. Austrian climate protection law is based on the Climate Protection Act, national emissions certificate trading, the implementation regulations for EU emissions trading and the Renewable Energies Expansion Act.

What we do: We advise, represent, and support you in your projects related to renewable energy, the application of national emissions trading regulations, and the provisions governing the EU Emissions Trading System.
